Abstract

AYUSO, Miguel. EL IMPOSIBLE HISTÓRICO DEL NACIONALISMO ESPAÑOL: El pensamiento tradicional español frente al nacionalismo. Rev. hist. am. argent. [online]. 2018, vol.53, n.1, pp.143-165. ISSN 2314-1549.

Traditional Spanish thought, although it has not always expressed it clearly, is profoundly opposed to nationalism, but also to Europeanism. After offering an overview of the matter in relation to the French, Italian or Spanish-American world, he examines the most significant contributions regarding the traditionalist thinkers of the first and second half of the twentieth century. The conclusion is that anti-Europeanism comes from sources other than nationalism and that, as for it, not only the separatist but also what could be called Spanish, are alien to the Spanish tradition.

Keywords : Homeland; Nation; Patriotism; Nationalism; Europeism; Spanish tradition; Traditionalism.
