Abstract

BENCLOWICZ, José  and  POY, Lucas. The Argentine Socialist Party and Inter-Nationalism. The Relations with International Social Democracy towards the 1920s. Rev. hist. am. argent. [online]. 2023, vol.58, n.1, pp.117-148.  Epub Aug 15, 2023. ISSN 2314-1549.  http://dx.doi.org/10.48162/rev.44.040.

In the last two decades, there has been a remarkable revitalization in the studies of socialism in Argentina. Internationally, research that places socialist internationalism as a specific study topic is gaining strength. Drawing on these trends, this article reconstructs the stances of the Argentine Socialist Party regarding the Internationals in general and analyzes its relationship with the Labour and Socialist International towards the 1920s, considering how both organizations were linked and the evolution and limits of that relationship. Based on the analysis of party publications and LSI sources, the article investigates an aspect that, despite its relevance for the actors themselves, has remained practically unexplored until now. In doing so, it enriches the knowledge about the development of the PS in Argentina and the practice of socialist internationalism.

Keywords : Argentinian Socialist Party; Labour and Socialist International; 1920 decade; international relationships.
