Abstract

PATIERNO, Nicolás. Analysis of body and education as objects of symbolic violence: One possible approach from the perspective of Pierre Bourdieu. Educ. fís. cienc. [online]. 2016, vol.18, n.1, pp.00-00. ISSN 2314-2561.

The article analyzes the body and education concepts proposed by Bourdieu in several of his works. Focusing on the concepts mentioned as sources of domination in the hands of modern states, the text seeks to develop the reproductivist hypothesis that associates those terms to the establishment and consolidation of a certain social order. Assuming a historical-hermeneutic methodology based on the review of primary and secondary sources, the objective of this article is tracking these concepts through his major books translated into Spanish. These include the compilation of articles appointedReproduction in Education, Society and Culture; Practical Reason and Pascalian Meditations as key to interpreting the concepts of body and education associated with modern education resources domination. At the same time, the proposed analysis includes a relatively contemporary dialogue with the perspective of the Bourdieu's work; these include Foucault and Althusser, as authors whose theoretical proposals can mingle with the approach of Bourdieu, enriching the theoretical debates into the article.
