Abstract

RODRIGUES MOTA JUNYOR*, Jorge Luiz  and  KRAHENBUHL, Tathyane. O ensino do handebol na escola: uma pesquisa-ação com o TGfU e com o Sport Education Model. Educ. fís. cienc. [online]. 2023, vol.25, n.1, e250. ISSN 2314-2561.  http://dx.doi.org/https://doi.org/10.24215/23142561e250.

The objective was to evaluate technical-tactical learning and student involvement through the implementation of a Didactic Unit (DU) for handball teaching using a hybrid model composed of the principles of the Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU) and the Sport Education Model (SEM). This qualitative study is based on action research and it is divided into four phases: I) the identification of the initial situation, with semi-structured interviews to teachers and a closed questionnaire to students; II) planning of a DU; III) development/implementation of the DU and research data collection; and IV) research data analysis. The DU teaches 17 lessons in a ninth-grade class of elementary education in a public school in Brazil. As a result, throughout the sports season the affiliated teams progressed in levels of play, from the anarchic/decentralized phase to the structured phase, and in the behavioral aspects, engagement, group work, understanding, relaxed atmosphere and joy were observed as frequent. The hybrid model is an option to promote the engagement of students in classes aimed at teaching handball, as it promoted the learning of technical-tactical aspects and also the student motivation observed by behaviors related to social cohesion and task. The hybrid model confirmed its relevance for the development of a sport education suited to the school reality, especially in public schools.
