Abstract

ARRUDA, José Jobson de Andrade. A Colonia Brasil: história e historiografia. Travesía (San Miguel de Tucumán) [online]. 2015, vol.17, n.1, pp.7-29. ISSN 2314-2707.

This paper proposes a joint reflexion on the history produced by historians interested in the trajectory of the colony Brazil in modern times, an epoch during which a new system of colonization is built, based on mercantile capital and on the forced labor of africans and natives, organized by free whites immigrants, in their majority Portuguese, transformed into settlers by their colonial experience; a system ruled by the principles of monopoly and colonial exclusivity, typical of the imperialism of mercantilism.

Keywords : Colonial system; Commercial capitalism; Imperialismo of mercantilism; Patterns of colonization.
