Abstract

DE GIORGI, Ana Laura. Un pensamiento propio: Feminismo desde y para América Latina en la década de 1980. Travesía (San Miguel de Tucumán) [online]. 2018, vol.20, n.2, pp.45-64. ISSN 2314-2707.

The international arena was always a reference space for feminism, but in the eighties a new concept of “Latin American Feminism” emerged to distinguish itself from “northern feminism”. In view of this process the idea of “second wave” feminism “reaching” Latin America needs to be reviewed, or at least reconsidered as active reception. The aim of this article is to analyze this discourse of Latin American Feminism. and identify those ideas or concepts that allowed feminisms from the different countries in the región to unite, as well as to establish their difference from those of the western metropolis.

Keywords : Latin American Feminism; Own thinking; Anti-Imperialism.
