Abstract

PAVEZ ROSALES, Lucas Ignacio. The Projection of Indonesia as an Emergent Power. Relac. int. [online]. 2016, vol.25, n.51, pp.43-58. ISSN 2314-2766.

In a world-system that tend to multipolarity, the semi-peripheries have a fundamental role as builders of a new power structure. The central question of this paper is: which are the possibilities for Indonesia to project itself as an Emerging Power or as a Regional Power? Such questioning deal with an analysis at two to variables: 1) the economic, military, political and social capacities owned by Indonesia; and 2) the influence and/or determinant of the ASEAN geopolitical context for Indonesia. The theoretical support of the text is structuralism, with some contribution of autonomism.

Keywords : Emerging Power; ASEAN Region; Dependencies; Semi-periphery.
