Abstract

The purpose of this article is to make an overview of the recent bilateral relation between Chile and Argentina. Particularly, it is very relevant to analyze the influence of the Treaty of Maipu, signed in 2009, and its additional protocols. Also, this article examines the challenge of the President Michelle Bachelet in her new presidential period since 2014 "to retake and reinvigorate" this Treaty in order to get a step forward in the establishment of a strategic alliance between both countries.
