Abstract

SAMPO, Carolina. Because not only terrorism matters. Notes on organized crime activities in Spain. Relac. int. [online]. 2016, vol.25, n.51, pp.129-142. ISSN 2314-2766.

Much has been discussed recently on the progress of terrorism in Europe and the impact on its security. However, it is important not to lose sight of the organized crime's activities in that continent; not only because it is a serious threat to the states' and people's security, but also because it provides financing to terrorist groups. In this context, we seek to analyze the extent of organized crime in Spain. This country is identified as the entrance to Europe of many criminal organizations, especially those related to drug trafficking.

Keywords : Organized Crime; Europe; Spain; Drug Trafficking; International Security.
