Abstract

ARANDA BUSTAMANTE, Gilberto  and  RIQUELME RIVERA, Jorge. Carthago delenda est. La impronta de Donald Trump en la Política Exterior de Estados Unidos. Relac. int. [online]. 2021, vol.30, n.60, pp.191-207. ISSN 2314-2766.  http://dx.doi.org/https://doi.org/10.24215/23142766e131.

The article analyzes the main characteristics of the foreign policy of the United States during the Trump administration. In this sense, this paper argues that, as a populist and Jacksonian leader, Trump put into practice a markedly personalist and nationalist foreign policy, through an essentially conflictive interpretation of international relations, which is manifested in an accentuated criticism of multilateral institutions, isolationism, and the obstruction of migratory flows.

Keywords : Donald Trump; Foreign Policy; Populism; Nationalism.
