ALTAVILLA, Cristian. REELECTIONIN THE PROVINCIAL PUBLIC LAW . Rev. Fac. [online]. 2017, vol.8, n.1, pp.1-20. ISSN 1850-9371.

Reelection of executive branches has been an issue widely studied by the constitutional and political literature, yet little has been written about this issue at the subnational level, been those studies focused at the national level. This paper addresses the issue of reelec-tion in the 24 provincial constitutions since the return of democracy in 1983 to present. In a ñrst part, the paper describes and analyzes the processes of constitutional reform at the intermediate subnacional level (provinces) identifying the different processes of constitutional chance where the subject of reelection was discussed (allowing it or prohibiting it, extending it or restricting it), detecting the different trends (in favor or against it) in the provincial public law in the last 33 years of demo-cracy. In a second part, reelection of governors and party politics will be analyzed under the period of analysis, considering the impact that reelection have had in those political subsystems.
