Abstract

LARRAAN, Juan  and  DRAPELA, Pedro. Catalogue of bryophytes of La Campana National Park (Valparaíso Region, Chile). Lilloa [online]. 2022, vol.59, n.2, pp.127-187. ISSN 0075-9481.  http://dx.doi.org/https://doi.org/10.30550/j.lil/2021.59.1/2022.07.19.

A detailed knowledge of biodiversity is fundamental for the proper design of conservation strategies. In terms of bryophyte diversity, Chile still lacks floristic information for large parts of the country. As a contribution to the knowledge of the natural history of central Chile, we present a catalogue of bryophytes of La Campana J. Larraín, P. Drapela: Catálogo de los briófitos del Parque Nacional La Campana (Chile) National Park, in Valparaíso Region. A total of 148 bryophyte taxa were found, corresponding to 111 moss species, 33 liverworts, and four hornworts. Among these there are several new regional and provincial records, as well as extensions of the known distribution range of some taxa. Bryum klinggraeffii is for the first time reported for Chile. The biogeographic patterns of the local flora are discussed, and the distinctive ecological features of the bryophyte flora of the National Park are commented.
