FERRARIS, Guillermina; PALEOLOGOS, María Fernanda; PEREZ, Maximiliano  and  WAINER, Ezequiel. Aporte a la política pública de promoción de la agroecología desde la Biofábrica Escuela en el área hortícola del Gran La Plata, Argentina. Rev. ext. univ. [online]. 2021, n.15, pp.24-24. The environmental impact of agricultural production is a recurring concern in different spaces. Public institutions linked to the agricultural sector have taken the issue differently according to various aspects such as: the production model that is promoted or defended, the macroeconomic objectives, the pressures of multinationals and the concentrated producer sector, the demands of local communities, among other. For the last 15 years in Argentina this concern is reflected in the creation of different public agencies that promote Agroecology as an environmentally sustainable and socially fair production, marketing and consumption model. The Faculty of Agricultural and Forest Sciences of the National University of La Plata created the Biofactory School in order to contribute to the process of agroecological transition through the joint construction of knowledge for the elaboration and use of biopreparations. This paper reflects on the challenges generated by the implementation of this initiative, the strategic alliances with dependencies of the provincial public administration and with organizations of the producer sector.

Keywords : agroecology; biopreparations; family agriculture; horticulture; university extension.
