This article reports on the work carried out in the framework of a research project funded by the National University of Salta, which is linked to another one developed in 2019 by the Red Interuniversitaria de Comunicación Comunitaria, Alternativa y Popular. During the pandemic we focused on a re–reading of the data from the province of Salta to approach an interpretation specifically in a local key. The research focused on radio stations linked to family farming as peasant and indigenous communities, which forge logics and strategies different from those of hegemonic communication.

The knowledge produced about these media is situated in a trajectory that articulates university practices (research and extension projects and the Chair of Popular and Alternative Communication of the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences), the Mesa de Comunicación Popular de Salta y Jujuy, social organisations and public institutions in the province.
