This article analyzes the changes in the communication modality carried out by an extension service of the Faculty of Psychology of the National University of Córdoba during the pandemic. It offers a space for listening and guidance to promote maternal health and prevent emotional disorders and physical discomfort during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Its interdisciplinary approach is based on the rights and from a gender perspective. Since the pandemic, the service has applied teleconsultation to replace face–to–face interviews. To compare both communication approaches, an analysis matrix that identifies strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats was used.

The use of information and communication technologies favored the continuity of the service, allowing greater accessibility for the target population, resulting into early interventions and contributing to the promotion of maternal health.
