In 2023 Argentina commemorates 40 years of uninterrupted democracy, which is a special occasion to address a sensitive issue throughout Latin America. This article presents the university as an institution capable of contributing to the promotion of social inclusion, ensuring citizens’ rights and strengthening democracy, based on its vast experience in outreach and on the proposal of integrality of functions. To this end, a theoretical–conceptual journey and the analysis of concrete practices, through which the academy contributes in this sense, are presented.
