Abstract

BLANCO, Ricardo. The abstraction in the Río de la Plata: Its effect in argentine´s design. An. Inst. Arte Am. Investig. Estét. Mario J. Buschiazzo [online]. 2013, vol.43, n.2, pp.151-168. ISSN 2362-2024.

The beginning of the demonstrations of the abstraction in our country has its place in Torres Garcías´s work in Uruguay and it was developed continuing with the Concret Art Association, invention and the Movement (Madi), to settle it then with the magazine nueva visión with Tomás Maldonado as an ideologue. We can consider that BKF marks the beginning of design in Argentina due to its characteristics, which are: the involvement of the aesthetic groups of the moment, the resolution with the available technology and with a concern about the utilitarian varieties. These modes are perceived in the continuity which was demonstrated in design companies´ works, such as Harpa, Six, ch and Stilka until this discipline was installed in Argentine´s universities.
