Abstract

A contextual analysis and interpretation is proposed that examines the discourses about the domestic space, modernity, and the contemporary that emerge from the texts (iconographics or images and writings) from specialized publications (Revista de Arquitectura; Nuestra Arquitectura) and mass media (Casas y Jardines; Mi Ranchito; El Hogar) between the 1930's and the 1940's, in order to identify the meanings and senses of those discourses, and evaluate their correlation with the changes in the physical space of houses and the forms and ways in which they are inhabited.
