Abstract
MULLER, Luis. Seeing and Showing: Plans, Drawings, and Photographs in the works of Amancio Williams (1941-1966). An. Inst. Arte Am. Investig. Estét. Mario J. Buschiazzo [online]. 2015, vol.45, n.2, pp.215-230. ISSN 2362-2024.
Amancio Williams cared for the details of every sheet that would be used to represent his projects. Using different drawing techniques, the assembly of photomontages, or direct photography, graphic pieces were produced in his office that accomplished the purpose of always showing something more than an architectural project. They also worked as artifacts that transmitted ideas, and ultimately, communicated the final purpose of these works: to be located in the territory of inventions. An analysis of a selection of his full-page images, montages, and photographs allows as to approach both his conception of architecture and his inscription to particular contemporary aesthetic trends.
Keywords : architecture; photography; representation.
