Abstract

SAN FILIPPO, Luis. Kazuo Shinohara as a photographer: His travels and records. An. Inst. Arte Am. Investig. Estét. Mario J. Buschiazzo [online]. 2016, vol.46, n.2, pp.121-132. ISSN 2362-2024.

A Japanese architect begins his second trip outside his native country. This experience is recorded by him through written accounts and photographs. The documents are posthumously published by a Spanish magazine, extending them with a postulate which is, at the least, questionable: "[T]hey reveal his curiosity about cultures and peoples that bore no relation to Japan".1 This work aims to research the materials that are available through a brief methodological exercise that realizes a possible mode of approach, which involves certain epistemological agreements to retrace the task. The premise is to jeopardize "diversity" as a fictional market value.

Keywords : spaces; interpretation; perspective; learning; Japan; Argentina.
