Abstract

During the ninteen twenties and thirties the city of Buenos Aires started actions to consolidate it,s urban form. One of the projects, in control of the Dirección Nacional de Vialidad, was a new avenue called "General Paz", expected to solve the problems of urban mobility and to shape the Capital border. In this context, this article aims to analyse the space and infraestrcture wich shaped this border, taking two moments into account: the first one following the origin of the idea, the second, refering to the project and it´s construction. Concerning this subject Buenos Aires issues are analyzed as long with the problems of its growing metropolitan area.
