Abstract

GARCIA MORENO, Beatriz. Cities, worldviews and discourses of the social bond: A proposal to think and approach the city. An. Inst. Arte Am. Investig. Estét. Mario J. Buschiazzo [online]. 2021, vol.51, n.1, pp.1-11. ISSN 2362-2024.

In order to think about and approach the city in its own complexity, the proposal is, as a navigation chart, an approach based on four logics that constitute it: institutions, utopia, function and the inhabitants with their wishes. Each of them refers to a model or theory of the city in which this logic is dominant. In the referred models, taken mainly from the Latin American and Colombian city, their conception and materialization are examined according to particular worldviews (Pepper, 1972) and social bond discourses (Lacan, 2004). The proposed analysis does not forget that each of these logics examined are part of the city object and that they are related to each other in the midst of tensions and disagreements, that sometimes reaches agreements, but frequently, the divergence remains.

Keywords : city models; world views; discourses of the social bond; subject; desire; enjoyment; Colombia; Siglo XIX; Siglo XX.
