This research studies the house in the magazine Nuestra Arquitectura during the period 1929-1945, during this time “The problem of the home” occupied the center of the disciplinary debates, with several approaches coexisting. However, later accounts about the history of argentinian architecture and the editorial line of the publication, were mostly impregnated by the category of the “modern”. Consequently, other approaches of time on the idea of “the house” remain unaware today. By surveying the magazine, it was possible to detect a series of discourses that cannot be explained from the canonical approach and that are centered in “the people”, “the necessities and comfort” and “the parts of the house”. Based on alternative readings, this article proposes to recover other imaginaries and architects that have been bypassed for not contributing to the construction of the “modern” imaginary of the house.
