Abstract
WELTI, María Elisa; GUIDA, Maria Eugenia and SEMORILE, Claudia Inés. JUAN MANTOVANI: GESTIÓN EDUCATIVA Y POLÍTICA CULTURAL EN LA PROVINCIA DE SANTA FE (1938-1941) . Rev. Esc. Cienc. Educ. [online]. 2019, vol.1, n.14, pp.33-48. ISSN 1851-6297.
We analyzed the management of Juan Mantovani (San Justo, province of Santa Fe, 1898 - Germany, 1961) between 1938 and 1941 as Minister of Public Instruction and Development (hereinafter MIPyF) of the province of Santa Fe (Argentina) during the governance of the conservative Manuel de Iriondo (1937 - 1943). Mantovani promoted an ambitious program to create and consolidate cultural institutions and artist training. In addition, the support provided to Olga Cossettini is known, which led him to participate in various activities of School No. 69 “Dr. Gabriel Carrasco”. In this study we consider as sources, the speeches of Juan Mantovani linked to his ministerial function, pronounced and published in that framework. These documents offer a way to access the ideas of Mantovani associated with the dissemination of arts and culture, in the deployment of a cultural, artistic and educational policy. For the analysis we apply the methodological keys of the intellectual history that allow to articulate the features of a broader educational policy, with the lines of the speeches that marked the trajectory of Mantovani as an official, educator and intellectual, and his imprint in the definition of the fields pedagogical, artistic and cultural.
