Abstract
KOHAN, M.P. et al. RAPID3 (Routine Assessment of Patient Index Data) performance in patients with osteoarthritis of the knee, hip or hand . Rev. argent. reumatolg. [online]. 2017, vol.28, n.2, pp.11-14. ISSN 0327-4411.
RAPID3 is a self-reported questionnaire, developed to assess rheumatoid arthritis patients. It´s been used in patients with knee/ hip osteoarthritis (OA), with satisfactory results. Objectives: To determine whether there is a correlation between RAPID3 and other questionnaires used in patients with hand OA (AUSCAN) and hip and/or knee (WOMAC); and to compare the time it takes to complete and calculate it. Methods: Observational cross-sectional analytical study. Consecutive patients ≥50 years old with knee, hip and/or hands OA were included. All patients completed RAPID3 and WOMAC and/or AUSCAN questionnaire as required. Time required to complete each questionnaire and to score them was measured. Results: We evaluated 104 patients. A correlation of 0.66 and 0.62 was observed when comparing RAPID3 with WOMAC and AUSCAN respectively (p<0.01). When assessing RAPID3 with WOMAC function subscale, a correlation of 0.75 was reached (p<0.01) and 0.68 with WOMAC Ab (p<0.001). In comparison to the WOMAC, the time required to complete and to score RAPID3 questionnaire was lower (p<0.001). Conclusion: Our study showed a good correlation between RAPID3, WOMAC and AUSCAN questionnaires, and it requires less time to perform and calculate it, resulting a useful tool to evaluate patients with knee, hip and/or hand OA.
