Abstract

FINUCCI CURI, Pablo; PORTILLO, Matías Damián  and  AGOLTI, Mariela. Vasculitis of upper and lower limbs due to giant cell arteritis. Rev. argent. reumatolg. [online]. 2017, vol.28, n.3, pp.41-43. ISSN 0327-4411.

The extracranial giant cell arteritis is mainly due to the involvement of the aortic arch and the thoracic aorta. Vasculitis of large vessels in the upper and lower limbs is an infrequent manifestation that can determine an important morbidity and mortality, being difficult to recognize if there is no suspicion. We present the case of a 63-year-old man who underwent positron emission tomography (PET) in the context of a constitutional syndrome in which images suggestive of arteritis in the upper and lower limbs were identified.

Keywords : vasculitis; giant cell vasculitis; arms; legs.
