This article proposes a reading of Parques (2021) by Sergio Delgado, a book that brings together three different texts, one of them, Parque del Sur, originally published in 2008. The three parks that each text deals with constitute a reflection on memory that goes far beyond the problem of human subjectivity to open up to life in all its forms and to a conception of non-inert matter. Each text is an exploration of a specific space that discusses the relationships between nature, landscape, human and non-human societies, their history and their politics. To do this, the protagonists' gaze, naturalist first and archaeological later, focuses on the parks as refuge of nature within the city, on its animals, its plants, its watercourses and the inorganic composition of its elements.
