Abstract

SAMAJA, Juan Alfonso. Hacer de la ciencia un espacio habitable. AyP contin. [online]. 2021, vol.8, n.15, pp.11-11. ISSN 2362-6089.  http://dx.doi.org/https://doi.org/10.35305/23626097v8i15.337.

This paper presents the theoretical guidelines that we have been developing since 2019, together with the teaching team of the subject Introduction to Scientific Thought (Lic. Industrial Design-FAPyD-UNR). It has been tried to make explicit the deep relationship between Science and Professional Practices, in general, and around Design training, in particular. But since such an articulation cannot leave science in the same place where it found it, our effort has necessarily implied a concomitant revision of the general representations about the scientific itself. We summarize below the core of this review in the next statements: 1) science constitutes a practice not separate from thinking and doing in general, intertwined with the other modes of human production of meaning; 2) science is not only a specific method, but also a world of specific experiences that this method makes possible for a specific subject; 3) a truly expanded conception of science requires incorporating a subjective dimension into the understanding of the scientific process, as recognized by the epistemological guidelines of the last 50 years known as 2nd order cybernetics.

Keywords : scientific method; scientific experience; scientific subject; design; professional practice.
