Abstract

ARANEDA, Sergio González. What it is, what makes (and is made). Philosophy of patuity in Étienne Souriau. Bol. estét. [online]. 2022, n.59, pp.11-20. ISSN 2408-4417.  http://dx.doi.org/10.36446/be.2022.59.293.

We propose as a general research objective to expose the theoretical and practicalfoundations for the development of a philosophy of patuity in Étienne Souriau. For this,we will go through three specific objectives: i) we will review the general lineaments ofthe project of a comparative aesthetics in the philosophy of the French from a geneticperspective regarding the artistic phenomenon, ii) with this, we will evaluate theontological scope of the project of a comparative aesthetics, appealing to the concepts of“instauration” and “patuity”, iii) finally, and as a synthesis of the above, we willpropose an analysis regarding what Souriau will call virtual existence, understanding itas the engine of the instaurative process of the real.

Keywords : Aesthetics; Instauration; Ontology; Virtuality.
