The objective of this article is to analyze the workers vacation colonies programs promotes during the last period of the government of Arturo Alessandri (1932-1938) and the government of Pedro Aguirre Cerda (1938-1941), which allowed a growing number of workers could access the vacation experience. One aspect to highlight is the role that the State and businessmen played in the formulation of programs such as the collective summer camps. It is concluded that this program, developed between 1937 and 1941, was an advance in social inclusion policies for workers and served as a model for future social tourism programs in Chile.
