This article discusses some aspects of the criminal dynamics present in Baixada Fluminense - Rio de Janeiro in the last two decades. As such, it explores the significant changes in local territorial disputes that have taken place in the last decade with the expansion of militias and drug trafficking factions. More specifically, it analyzes the relations, flows, and disputes between various powerful groups that seek to establish political dominance and extract economic gains in large areas of the region, producing perverse interactions that result in the violent territorial ordering and management of the populations living there.
