The general objective of the work is to describe agricultural sustainability from a systemic and complex approach. Specific purposes include a.- To express all the components of sustainability simultaneously as a necessary operational requirement, b- To use the agroecosystems profile as a critical variable; c- To prioritise and qualify the scale and technology of the farms and d- To integrate the attributes for the transition from commercial systems to territorial ones. Small and medium scales, using good practices, plus tenure and residence features, generate sustainable systems. The resulting models can be agrosocial, agroecological or organic
