Abstract

CRESPO PAZOS, Matías Omar. Dinámica de las negociaciones y conflictos de asalariados citrícolas durante la última década en Tucumán, Argentina. Estud. trab. [online]. 2015, n.50, pp.153-180. ISSN 0327-5744.

The resurgence of union activity observed since 2002 occurred heterogeneously among the workers in Argentina. For the case of farmworkers, are highlighted the process of negotiations and conflicts of the temporary workers in the north Patagonian´s fruit production and in the Tucuman´s citrus production. In this article, we study the farmworker conflict in the citrus production between 2002 and 2011. We bring back the different dimensions of analysis presents in the studies of landless farmworkers protests to track the elements that impact favorably on the emergence and sustenance of a dynamic of negotiations and conflicts in the activity. From the survey of data from newspaper sources we systematize the various protest actions present at the beginning and end of the harvest, developed by lemon workers and their union. Along with several interviews with union, employer and government representatives, as with workers of the activity, we focus on the study of the orientation and strategy of action of this group of workers. With these elements we seek to approach the understanding of a distinctive process of negotiations and conflicts in the current map of farmworkers conflict in the country.

Keywords : Farmworkers; Rural syndicalism; Collective negotiations; Citrus production.
