Abstract

PRADIER, Carolina. Labor market insertion and health care access in the period 2004-2020. A contribution to the study of the labor force’s reproduction conditions in Argentina. Estud. trab. [online]. 2021, n.61, pp.90-121. ISSN 0327-5744.

This article provides evidence on the evolution of the relationship between the labor market insertion conditions of the population and its access to the health care system for the period comprised between 2004 and 2020. For this purpose, the information provided by the Permanent Household Survey will be consulted for the analysis of the population’s conditions of access to the health system by employment and activity status, age and sex. The evidence presented shows that the significant improvements in health care access conditions throughout the period considered can mainly be attributed to the variation in the composition of the population in terms of employment and activity status, thus describing a health care system that replicates and exacerbates the inequalities present in the labor market.
