Abstract
DIAZ, Natalia Elisa. Boots, braids and glitter: Strategies to make dissidence visible in Argentine folklore. Recial [online]. 2022, vol.13, n.21, pp.107-121. Epub Sep 19, 2022. ISSN 2718-658X. http://dx.doi.org/10.53971/2718.658x.v13.n21.37848.
Within the framework of Argentine folklore, understood as a field of symbolic production, an affective culture and a set of social repertoires have been built that can only be understood under a heteronormative matrix. However, in recent years, mounted gauchos with harnesses and stiletto heels, trans copleras who sing to the murders of transvestites or drag queens who dance to the rhythm of huaynos to question the LGTBQI+ construction that reaffirms a white and western femininity.
Using tools from the sociology of discourse and culture, this paper is built around the following questions: through what strategies do dissidents seek to make themselves visible in the identity narratives constructed by the field of folklore? How to address the heterogeneity of dissident sexualities? Is it possible to build a queer perspective of the national being?
Keywords : folklore; dissidence; national being; heteronormative matrix.
