Abstract

QUISPE-AGNOLI, Rocío. Inhabiting the borders: New Chronicle and Good Government’s pluriversal hints. Recial [online]. 2022, vol.13, n.22, pp.161-182.  Epub Dec 08, 2022. ISSN 2718-658X.  http://dx.doi.org/10.53971/2718.658x.v13.n22.39354.

This article discusses the perception of confusion, entanglement, misunderstanding, opacity, and enigmatic nature of Guamán Poma’s Nueva corónica y buen Gobierno that displaced this work, for much of the twentieth century, to the margins of historical studies. To this end, I briefly discuss examples of apparent gaps and errors in this book and propose that these instancess provide a glimpse of the interstices in Andean pluriversality under the Spanish colonial regime. Also, I deconstruct the critical discourse of Porras Barrenechea on “the Indian chronicle” from a decolonial reflection that reveals Guaman Poma’s work as a textual space of pluriversality.

Keywords : pluriversal; decolonial; coloniality of power; silences; loquacity.
