We present the case of a patient with DM who, due to poor insulin application technique and hygiene, develops a skin and soft tissue infection with subsequent appearance of Fusarium oxysporum. It is important to emphasize the relevance of diabetes education in insulin ized patients and the role of diabetes educators in their care. On the other hand, it is important to emphasize the importance of taking cultures by soft tissue puncture in case of local signs of infection.
