Abstract
VIGNOLI, Marcela. The feminine writing and the challenge of taking the word in the cultural Tucuman of the early 20th century. Andes [online]. 2020, vol.31, n.1, pp.00-00. ISSN 1668-8090.
At the end of the nineteenth century, some educated women of Tucumán -particularly graduates from the Escuela Normal de Maestras that had been created in 1888- began to publish essays in literary magazines, opinions in the press, as well as to lecture in national festivities or meetings organized by the Círculo del Magisterio, created in 1905. The topics on which they wrote or lectured were closely related to their intellectual capacity and role as educators and how to improve that task as well as the performance of students. This novel writing and oratory, insofar as they were intended to be shared by others in the public space, coexisted along with other ways of expressing themselves more linked to the intimacy of women, but which also began to strengthen ties outside the private space. The aim of this article is to analyze the different writings of a group of women who circulated in the Tucumán in early 20th century, considering that in this period women assume and carry out the challenge of speak with their own voice.
