Abstract

Information concerning the geology, geomorphology, climate and soils of this area is provided. From the phytogeographical viewpoint the vegetation under study lies within the Andean-Patagonic Domain, namely in the Altoandean Province where three floristic districts corresponding to three altitudinal vegetation belts were recognized: Low Altoandean belt, Medium Altoandean belt with the occurrence of snow and High Altoandean or glacial belt. In this work add it belt ultimate. A total of 39 plant communities were determined. Vegetation belts are represented at a scale of 1:250,000.
