Abstract

ROITMAN, G.; CASTILLO, A.  and  BARRIOS, M. R.. A new species of Habranthus (Amaryllidaceae) from Argentina. Bol. Soc. Argent. Bot. [online]. 2008, vol.43, n.1-2, pp.153-155. ISSN 1851-2372.

A new species of Habranthus is described and illustrated. H. correntinus is found in wet grasslands of northeastern Argentina. The new species resembles Habranthus tubispathus in size, but can be easily distinguished by the presence of bulblets, narrow dark green leaves, narrow pinkish tepals with darker bases, the longer style with larger style arms, and the presence of leaves at anthesis. A key to identify the species of the genus from Corrientes is provided.

Keywords : Amaryllidaceae; Habranthus; Argentina.
