Abstract

RODRIGUEZ, Juan Manuel  and  ESTRABOU, Cecilia. Usnea amblyoclada «barba de piedra» (lichenized Ascomycetes) in Argentina. Bol. Soc. Argent. Bot. [online]. 2008, vol.43, n.3-4, pp.221-225. ISSN 1851-2372.

The fruticolous lichen Usnea amblyoclada is one of the most abundant saxicolous lichens in Argentina. It is used in popular medicine and as biomarker of air quality. The morphology, anatomy and chemistry of U. amblyoclada in Argentina are described and discussed. The distribution range of the species and genus is extended.
