Abstract
KELLER, Héctor A. and GIBERTI, Gustavo C.. First report for Argentina of Ilex affinis (Aquifoliaceae), a "mate" substitute. Bol. Soc. Argent. Bot. [online]. 2011, vol.46, n.1-2, pp.187-194. ISSN 1851-2372.
The finding of Ilex affinis Gardner (Aquifoliaceae) in the rocky cliffs and swampy places of Teyú Cuaré, Misiones Province, Argentina, raises to seven the number of species of this genus for our country and moves southward the distribution limits of the species. The species is described on the basis of the specimens collected, and it is illustrated by photographies. Moreover, considerations about distribution, ecology and relationships with maté (Ilex paraguariensis A. St. Hil.) are given.
