Abstract

GARCIA CUADRADO, José Ángel. The unitary idea of men in De hominis opificio Of Gregory of Nyssa. Scripta Mediaevalia [online]. 2016, vol.9, n.1, pp.11-33. ISSN 1851-8753.

The De hominis opificio Gregory of Nyssa is regarded the first treatise on Christian anthropology, wherein takes place a synthesis of biblical anthropology, Greek philosophy and the view of man's own natural sciences. In this summary, the conception of freedom of choice (proairesis) and internal freedom (eleutheria) emerge as essential interpretative keys of Christian anthropology, both in its ontological constitution and its moral dimension.

Keywords : Freedom; microcosmos; soul; Neoplatonism; evolutionism.
