Abstract

Giovanni Boccacio growth his interest on classics when meets Francesco Petrarca personally. The master/friend relationship guides him to write his latin works, and more importantly, go deeper on manuscripts researching. This allows him to rediscover works that were allegedly lost. Thus, he participates in the phenom of italian humanistic development, that gives birth to european Renaissance culture.
