Abstract

FERNANDEZ POLANCO, Valentín. Modern and contemporary critique's structure and their late medieval sources: The André de Muralt's analysis. Scripta Mediaevalia [online]. 2018, vol.11, n.2, pp.139-168. ISSN 1851-8753.

This paper aims to show André de Muralt's view on the structural configuration of the different gnoseological doctrines which were developed along the modern and contemporary times, as well as those doctrines' dependence on the theoretical assumptions implied in Duns Scotus' formal distinction ex natura rei and William of Ockham's interpretation of the theological hypothesis de potentia absoluta dei. All this will bring to light the modern and contemporary philosophical thought's main continuity lines from its late medieval origins, and the significance of the conceptual revolution operated by the critical scholastic philosophy.

Keywords : André de Muralt; critique; formal distinction ex natura rei; potentia absoluta dei; structure of thought.
