Abstract
BATTALEME, Juan. REALISMO PERIFÉRICO Y DOBLES PERIFERIAS: LA POLÍTICA DE SEGURIDAD INTERNACIONAL DE CHILE Y ARGENTINA FRENTE AL ASCENSO DE BRASIL Y LA PREPONDERANCIA NORTEAMERICANA. Postdata [online]. 2016, vol.21, n.1. ISSN 1851-9601.
How do the peripheral states react to changes when distribution of power occurs? What conduct in the security field is expected when a situation ofdouble periphery emerge in a region? This paper seeks to answer these questions by combining Carlos Escude's peripheral realism with neoclassical realism, looking to cover aspects of security policy that previous versions ofEscudé's work did not do. Thus, by reorienting his theoretical work from the field offoreign policy to the security one to answer those questions we can shape a more solid theory, strengthening it with aspects that he had not tried, extending its explanatory vitality for peripheral countries.
Keywords : International Relations Theory - neoclassical realism - peripheral realism - security -Argentina's foreign policy.
