Abstract

ITZU LUNA, Diana. Breathing Dignity: Women, Mother Earth, native peoples and organization. Estud. - Cent. Estud. Av., Univ. Nac. Córdoba [online]. 2022, n.48, pp.123-142. ISSN 1852-1568.

Abstract Our challenge is to get closer to understanding and reflecting on the image-force of the fabric of life, weaved and nurtured by women, indigenous peoples and Mother Earth. We are in the current moment of global systemic collapse. We try to rethink politics as vital energy and sensitive matter of re-existence for the elaboration of other ways of being, in relationship and action, in care/ protection of the Tseltal Mayan philosophy of the Iche'el ta muk' and the lekil kuxlejal (the greatness of the other for a dignified life). We intend to account for the power of the collective and community for the organization, raising the need to generate awareness from the ethics of the one and the whole to propose rethinking Life from the Autonomies as: 1) womb of spaces-times of containment, for the common but mainly for women, 2) as a horizon for the freedom of native peoples and non-indigenous organizational expressions, and 3) as a common home in interdependence/co-responsibility with Mother Earth.

Keywords : autonomies; global systemic collapse; Ixchel Tamuk/dignity; non-patriarchal territories; Lekil Kuxlejal/good living.
