NIN, María Cristina; SHMITE, Stella Maris and MOLINI, Judith. El genocidio del pueblo Gitano, proceso histórico y actualidad. Desafíos educativos. Rev. Univ. geogr. [online]. 2023, vol.32, n.2, pp.41-71. ISSN 1852-4265. http://dx.doi.org/https://doi.org/10.52292/j.rug.2022.31.2.0059.
The Roma or Romani people make up a mosaic of diversified groups but beyond their current fragmentation, they are the largest minority in Europe, and their presence in America spans centuries. The geographical dispersion of this population is characterized by the relationships within the global whole and, at the same time, by unique characteristics of each group in social, cultural, and political organization. Understanding the situation of the Roma minority is a territorial issue that transcends European borders. Therefore, it requires interpretation on a variety of levels. This paper aims to address this process from a geo-historical context and analyze the pedagogical possibilities from the perspective of policies and regulations related to minorities in Argentinian educational system. The intention is to assess and raise awareness of Roma history and culture with the purpose of generating discussions on marginalized topics within the curriculum and pedagogical proposals at different levels of education. Furthermore, an analysis of the inclusion of the Roma community in the education system of La Pampa is carried out based on two experiences. It is concluded that addressing this issue from a curriculum and educational inclusion perspective is highly relevant.
