Some authors have considered that the weight of colonial architecture In the Andean countries, like Ecuador, he promoted the development of picturesque proposals, Neo-national and neo colonial rather than modern, so that rationalism does not arrived but late, however, in Guayaquil, Modern Architecture emerged early at the beginning of the 1930s along with countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay or Mexico. This process must be understood, first, by the marked differences between Guayaquil and Quito and, secondly, due to the economic crisis at the end of the 1920s, when there was a need to simplify the forms, rationalize the space and lower construction costs.
