The purpose of this text is to reflect on the field of research in Design, inquiring about its object of study, the type and conditions of knowledge obtained, as well as the different approaches that this research can take. For this we consider it necessary to defend the autonomous status of the design disciplines, characterizing the research that is carried for, into and through design.
